Hi! My name is Jazz Leaf, and I am a certified nutritional therapist, and I’ve been a private Chef to professional athletes for the last three years! I specialize in efficiency in the kitchen, and my goal is to help you learn how to use what you have in your own kitchen and apply it into your meal.
Today we’re making a quick 10-minute, Crispy Pizza Tortilla Wrap. It’s so easy, it only uses four ingredients, and I’m going to show you how you can interchange those ingredients to come up with a quick 10-minute dinner for you or your family.
Let’s get to the recipe!
This is what they’re going to look like. They’re crispy on the outside and warm and juicy on the inside.
Let’s get started with the ingredients! You’re going to need a tortilla, any tortilla will do. I’m using these 100% whole wheat tortillas! Then you’re going to need some fresh spinach. We’re going to chop that up, like so, so it’s nice and fine.
Now two of my favorite toppings are onions and mushrooms. So I sauteed them up, and this is what they look like afterwards (just for about 5 minutes). Next up is fresh basil. It is such an essential ingredient when you’re making pizzas. To chop them up, take the leaves off, and then you can stack them like that. Then you roll them up in a little ball, and then you lightly chop them, just like that. If you don’t have access to fresh basil, you can always use dried.
We can’t make pizza without pepperoni. Here are these little turkey pepperonis. And any sort of your favorite pizza cheese! I’m using mozzarella. Lastly, you’ll need some marinara or pizza sauce.
Ok, let’s get started on assembly! You’re going to take your tortilla, and you’ll cut straight from the center to the side, and you’ll start with the pizza sauce in the bottom right corner. And then you’re going to add your fresh chopped spinach and some basil. Next up, we add the pepperoni nice and flat, you’ll end the bottom left corner with your favorite cheese.
Now this is the fun part! You’re going to move counterclockwise and take the tortilla, fold it over itself all the way until you get all sides. Just like that!
Before we get cooking, I’m going to show you how to make another version that’s vegetarian! You’re going to take any pizza sauce (i.e. pesto, white sauce, olive oil), you’ll add some mushrooms and onions, spinach and basil, and that cheese. Fold it over, just like that once again. Once you’ve assembled as many as you want with your favorite toppings, you’re going to heat a little bit of oil on a skillet and grill that tortilla on one side, three minutes, and flip it over on the other side for another three minutes.
You can cut it in half and that’s what you get on the inside! It’s so delicious, it’s so decadent, and it only takes 10 minutes! And just like that, 10 minutes later, you’ve got a crispy on the outside, warm and gooey on the inside, with all of your favorite pizza ingredients!
I’m going to take a bit right now – I hope you try these crispy tortilla pizzas when you get a chance this week. Cheers!
